Microarray Request Process

PFGRC will accept proposals without deadlines. Proposals are accepted and reviewed on a continuous basis.

Requests will be reviewed in a confidential manner by an NIAID PFGRC review group. Proposals will be selected based on a positive review.

Review considerations include:
  • Significance – Does the study address an important problem? What is the potential impact of the studies?
  • Approach – Are the design, methodology, and analyses adequately developed? Is the PI knowledgeable about microarray design?
  • Investigator – Is the PI appropriately trained and have the appropriate experience?
  • Resources and Environment – Will the scientific environment contribute to success? Do the proposed experiments employ useful collaborative arrangements? Are there funds to support the proposed research?
The review process will take about four weeks. NIAID may revise this timeline depending on the number of proposals or if other program priorities take precedence.

If selected, investigators will be contacted by the PFGRC and will receive information about the shipping procedures for microarrays.
