(ICICLE – Protocol #09-I-0069)
The NIH is conducting a research study to test the safety of IL-7, a new experimental drug named CYT107. This drug is similar to the natural IL-7 protein made in our bodies that is important for the normal development and function of immune cells in our blood (T lymphocytes) that fight infection. Animal studies have shown that CYT107 can increase the number and function of T lymphocytes, which are low in people with Idiopathic CD4 Lymphocytopenia (ICL), but this drug has not yet been used in people with ICL. Volunteers will be compensated.
