The NIAID HIV/AIDS Clinical Trials Networks have been designed to address one or more of NIAID’s six high priority areas of research:
- Vaccine Research and Development (HVTN)
- Translational Research/Drug Development (ACTG, IMPAACT)
- Optimization of Clinical Management, Including Co-Morbidities (ACTG, IMPAACT, INSIGHT)
- Microbicides (MTN)
- Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV (IMPAACT)
- Prevention of HIV Infection (HVTN, HPTN)
