Office of International Extramural Activities

Key Functions

• Reviews and assists in the development of policies for managing international research awards.
• Reviews financial systems that non-U.S. institutions use to manage NIAID grant and contract awards. Provides guidance, training, and expertise for improving these systems.

• Communicates with NIH, other federal agencies as well as foreign institutions about international policies for the use, possession, and transfer of select agents.

• Organizes international workshops on grant writing and post-award management of NIH funds.
