The National Advisory Allergy and Infectious Diseases Council convened on Thursday afternoon, September 26, to consider applications en bloc in the areas of allergy and immunology, microbiology and infectious diseases, and AIDS.
Pending Actions: The Council reviewed 638 research and training applications with primary assignment to NIAID for a requested amount of $413,071,289 in first-year direct costs and recommended approval of 587 applications for $308,700,289 in first-year direct costs. Four Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT) awards were recommended for approval.
