Dr. Baltimore discussed the work of the AIDS Vaccine Research Committee to spur novel ideas in HIV vaccine research. The committee has met, held workshops in different places around the world, and is working to garner the best ideas for vaccine development. He told Council that the committee was meeting later in the month to define future plans and review the success of the Innovation Grant Program for Approaches in HIV Vaccines, which it strongly supports.
