The National Advisory Allergy and Infectious Diseases Council convened in closed session on Thursday afternoon, June 15, to consider applications en bloc in the areas of allergy and immunology, microbiology and infectious diseases, and AIDS.
Pending Actions: The Council reviewed 995 research and training applications with primary assignment to NIAID for a requested amount of $277,232,633 in first-year direct costs and recommended approval of 967 applications for $191,834,894 in first-year direct costs. Twenty-eight Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT) awards were recommended for approval.
