Vicki Seyfert, Ph.D., Director, Office of Innovative Scientific Research Technologies, NIAID
Dr. Seyfert talked about her work toward incorporating new technologies and multidisciplinary approaches for advanced biomedical research into NIAID-sponsored and -conducted research. The major functions of the new office she heads (see Staff and Organizational Changes above) relate to information and communication, technology access (how NIAID ensures that new technologies get into the hands of the NIAID research community), and technology development (NIAID support of the development of new technologies).
