The National Advisory Allergy and Infectious Diseases Council convened in closed session on Thursday, January 17, to consider applications en bloc in the areas of allergy and immunology, microbiology and infectious diseases, and AIDS.
Pending Actions: The Council reviewed 928 research and training applications with primary assignment to NIAID for a requested amount of $278,697,763 in first-year direct costs and recommended approval of 891 applications for $265,840,181 in first-year direct costs. Five Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT) awards were recommended for approval.
