The National Advisory Allergy and Infectious Diseases Council convened in closed session to consider applications in the areas of allergy and immunology, microbiology and infectious diseases, and AIDS.
Funding Actions: The Council reviewed 1,956 research and training applications with primary assignment to NIAID for a requested amount of $758,338,007 in first-year direct costs and recommended approval of 1,263 applications for $441,836,906 in first-year direct costs. Six (6) Method to Extend Research in Time (MERIT) awards were recommended for approval.
