National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases scientists are studying diseases transmitted to humans by vectors (carriers) such as ticks, mosquitoes, and fleas. The Institute also funds research studies at institutions around the world to find better ways to diagnose, treat, and prevent these diseases.
