Description of Research Program

The Vaccine Product Development group manages the complex activities related to clinical development of VRC vaccines and associated international vaccine trials. These include establishing relationships with industry partners, managing development alliances, providing project management expertise, offering guidance for data coordination and analysis, ensuring adequate capacity for conducting human clinical trials that meet US and international guidelines, and developing contingency plans for assessing efficacy and potential use of biodefense vaccines. This group works closely with the Clinical Trials Core, the Vaccine Production Program and the laboratory PIs to ensure that clinical trial plans and timelines are designed to manage risk and maximize the potential for long-term success and eventual product licensure.
