Protein Sequencing: Technology

N-Terminal Protein Sequencing

The laboratory provides an array of consultative and technical services for N-terminal protein sequencing:

  • N-terminal sequencing of proteins and peptides by automated Edman degradation
  • Internal sequencing of N-terminally blocked proteins/peptides
  • Separation of samples on a cLC microblotter system for subsequent analysis
  • Identification of a protein in a gel plug by tryptic digestion
  • Help in design of protein purification strategies
  • Help in interpretation of sequence analysis data
  • Coordination of analysis strategies using MS and Edman analysis
