Resources

The following resources can be helpful in designing and implementing research as well as learning more about microscopy and microscope use.

Non-government Resources

Bitplane Download the latest version of the software, get user manuals, or join the user news group.
Scientific Volume Imaging Locate information on point spread functions and on deconvolution.
Molecular Probes Locate information on antibodies and fluorochromes to be used for confocal or fluorescence microscopy. The entire Molecular Probes catalog is available online for browsing.
The Fluorescence Database Locate emission spectra for many labels and determine their suitability for experiments.
Zeiss Locate information on general microscopy as well as confocal microscopy. Download the Zeiss image browser for viewing images collected on Zeiss confocal microscopes.
Leica Systems, Confocal Microscopy In addition to product descriptions, download Leica Lite, the free image browser for images collected on Leica microscopes.
Media Cybernetics
(the authors of Image Pro Plus)
The discussion forums are particularly good places to find macros written by other Image Pro users.
Florida State University, Microscopy The virtual confocal microscope displays the effect that changing the setup of the microscope will have on the collected image.
Molecular Probes Labels Provides quick access to excitation and emission spectra for molecular probes labels. This is a quick way to determine if two dyes can be separated easily on fluorescence or confocal microscopes.
