FACS Calibur
  • Two lasers: argon, red diode (633nm)
  • Six parameter analysis and sorting/doublet discrimination for DNA analysis
  • Four-color analysis using FITC, PE, PE-Cy5 (or PerCP), and APC
  • Macintosh platform (CellQuest) for data acquisition and analysis
Bldg. 50 Rm. 5430
Luminex 100
  • Capable of measuring up to 100 different analytes/tube.
  • Technology: molecular reactions take place on the surface of microspheres.
  • Thousands of molecules are attached to the surface of internally color-coded microspheres.
  • Assigned color-code identifies the reaction throughout the test
  • Magnitude of the biomolecular reaction is measured using a second molecule called a reporter.
  • Reporter molecule signals the extent of the reaction by attaching to the molecules on the microspheres.
  • Two sources of color: the color-code inside the microsphere and the reporter color on the surface of the microsphere.
Bldg. 4 Rm. B1-34
