For the past decade, researchers at NIAID’s Rocky Mountain Laboratories in the small Montana town of Hamilton have shared their love of science with middle school students. The program, called BRASS, has been polished to a high gloss and continues to introduce new generations of youngsters to the world of medical research. | |
Cholera, whooping cough, and numerous other diseases are almost unheard of in the United States these days, thanks in part to NIAID’s Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Units. Since 1962, thousands of volunteers at the units have helped advance the development of vaccines to protect everyone from infants to the elderly against infectious disease threats. |
