Many Hosts of Mycobacteria II: Immune Pathology Symposium (MHM2)

Overview

The purpose of this symposium is to bring together a small working group of researchers to explore the correlation between immune responses and pathology of mycobacterial infections of animals and humans and to better understand the utility and limitations of various animal models of TB and other mycobacterial diseases.

We are inviting researchers with experience with a wide-range of natural mycobacterial infections and animal models, including:

Mice
Guinea pigs
Rabbits
Non-human primates
Medakka (M. marinum)
Armadillos (M. leprae)
Cattle (M. bovis and M. avium spp. paratuberculosis)
Deer (M. bovis)
Cats/lions (M. bovis)
Asian elephants (M. bovis)
Badgers
Possums
Equine (Rhodoccocus)

Research in these species will be connected in the following five focused panel sessions to improve the understanding of mycobacterial immunopathology in both animal and human disease:

Neonatal Immunology
Granuloma Pathology
Granuloma Immunology
Immune Relevance
Case Reports
