NIAID and various experts have developed a protocol to evaluate the efficacy of a medical countermeasure to treat the hematopoietic syndrome of the acute radiation syndrome. This protocol is provided as an example of a GLP pivotal protocol for investigator information and reference. Specific protocols should be developed for each medical countermeasure and discussed with the FDA to obtain their concurrence.
